YOUR BEST PATH

  • January 30, 2023

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC)

There are two words commonly used to describe the future. “Fate” describes predicted events that will happen whether you like it or not; it refers to your lot in life. “Destiny” means God’s plan for your best life. Although preplanned, God will never force you into anything. You can choose to follow your destiny or deviate from it.

The Bible does not teach fate. Think about it. If we had no influence over any of the events of our lives, why would God give us instructions on how to prosper and live a great life? If our lives were predetermined, those instructions would be unnecessary.

God has prepared a destiny for you (Ephesians 2:10) and if you take His paths, you will live your best life. However, even if you have strayed from those paths, you can begin to follow Jesus at any time, and He will lead you out of any and every mess you have created.

God is brilliant and amazing. He knows you and all of the gifts He has placed within you better than you know yourself. Why not stick with His plans? They’ll result in the most satisfying, fulfilling life you can imagine.

Today, ask God what His plan is for your day, your week and your year. Keep listening and there is no doubt—He will lead you on your best path.
