WHY, GOD?

  • March 9, 2023

For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. Galatians 5:6 (NLT)

You can experience more of the miraculous in your life, but it may not happen the way you think.

Sometimes we think we need to receive prayer from famous preachers or evangelists to experience miracles. Other times we might assume we have to work up enough faith or beg and plead more to get God to stop holding our miracles back. In fact, these are old covenant ideas.

In Old Testament times, people had to jump through all sorts of hoops to qualify for God’s blessings. For example, circumcision was considered a must for a male who wanted to be counted as a member of God’s people. So, when Paul said that circumcision no longer mattered for those in Christ Jesus, you can imagine their reaction!

Paul was saying that our efforts to qualify on our own merits are meaningless. Jesus qualifies us for every blessing. But to experience them, we need to realize who we are and what we are entitled to through Christ.

When we don’t experience an answer to prayer, we often try to determine what we’ve done wrong or what we’ve failed to do. But Paul is saying in our verse today that it’s not about what you do or don’t do; it’s about God’s love and care for you!

Instead of asking “Why God?” questions, focus on His love and provision. He loves you. He values you. There’s no way He’s going to hold anything back from you! Just keep going back to His love and watch as hope begins to rise and faith begins to grow.
