THE POWER OF ENCOURAGEMENT

  • February 5, 2023

When Paul saw the believers, his heart was greatly encouraged and he thanked God. Acts 28:15 (TPT)

You and I have the ability to encourage each other. That’s one of the reasons why the church is so vital.

It amazes me how many people hold such a small view of church that they only attend when it’s convenient or when they feel like it. The Bible teaches that your local church is your team and part of your destiny!

Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to forsake meeting together, especially as we see the last days approaching. And Luke 21:26 says that in the last days, men’s hearts will fail them for fear. So why is it so important to God that believers get together? Because when we come together as the body of Christ and sing in unison, shake hands, hug and talk, we bring strength and encouragement to one another to keep going.

In Acts 28, the Apostle Paul experienced the power of encouragement from believers while on his way to Rome. As Paul passed through a particular inn, some believers came to meet with him.

Now, he had just survived being shipwrecked and bitten by a poisonous snake. On top of all that, God had already told him he would suffer and be martyred. Yet after seeing the believers, Paul was “greatly encouraged” to keep walking out his destiny.

That’s what we need to be like. Be someone who encourages those around you to keep going. And find like-minded people who help you feel strengthened to face your problems too. God designed us to encourage and be there for each other. Let’s help one another rise up and live out each day, believing Him for the best!
