RENEW YOUR PASSION

  • July 8, 2023

Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:23 (NLT)

How do you stay passionate when you're “just not feeling it”?

Research shows that when you change something physically, your mind will follow suit—and vice versa. Taking a walk, eating healthy or even smiling can help you feel better mentally. On the flip side, changing your thinking can also improve your physical health by leaps and bounds.

But nothing changes both your mind and body like Holy Spirit does! When you get into God’s Word and stay connected to Him, you tap into a reservoir of His amazing power.

If you want to maintain your passion, it’s crucial to start your day with Holy Spirit. Beginning with devotions, praise or prayer will get you focused on the things of God. As you’re going about your day, you can say, “God, use me today. I know You’re working with me to handle any problems going on in my life. Regardless of what today holds, I’m going to rise up and live it with passion!”

The reason God’s mercies are new every morning is because we need them! Rarely do I wake up and feel upbeat or excited by default. I have to find my passion on the way out the door. It’s a choice!

The Bible says that to be carnally minded—in other words, led by your five senses—leads to death, but to be spiritually minded leads to life (Romans 8:6). Your mind decides which way you go. The good news is that you are in control of your mind, and you can renew it.

Make the decision today that you’re going to guard your passion and pursue your purpose: which is to follow Christ and seek His Kingdom in every area of life.
