PRESS INTO GOD

  • January 29, 2023

Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Galatians 6:7 (NLT)

Personal failure is not grounds for getting kicked out of God’s family. You will fall short in life—we all do at times. Yet God’s love for you never changes.

You may feel remorseful when you hurt others and have a desire to make better choices in the future, but realize that your relationship with God is unshakable. There’s no reason to feel condemned. This is the Good News that we are commissioned to share with the world. Jesus makes it possible for us to have an incredible, life-giving relationship with God, despite our faults and imperfections!

Set this fact in your mind: you belong to God. If you have asked Jesus to be the leader of your life, you are in His family. However, your actions will still have a profound impact on your life. For example, God will forgive an extramarital affair, but will your spouse? God will forgive you for cheating on your taxes, but will the government?

Any time we disobey the guidelines God has set before us, life will deal out painful consequences. Much like the law of gravity is non-negotiable, consequences are part of a law that’s in effect on earth. It’s called the law of sowing and reaping.

Don’t hover on the edge of what is acceptable to God. You only end up hurting yourself and those around you when you cross that boundary. Instead of being concerned with where the line of morality is so you can press in as close to it as possible, press into God! Pursuing Him and planting good seeds will lead to a better harvest than you can imagine.
