POWER-PACKED RELATIONSHIPS

  • March 7, 2023

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:16–17 (NKJV)

Holy Spirit can give you the inside edge in your relationships.

He can guide you, help you to pray for protection and even lead you to ask the right questions at the right time. For example, He can help you to sense when someone you love needs something specific from you.

I remember when one of my daughters went through a period of time when she acted out whenever I came home. One day as I was praying for her, I sensed what she needed from me. She needed to see me laugh. I had been serious because of some of the things I had been dealing with at work, and she was teasing and harassing me because that was the only way she knew to break the seriousness.

That night began like most others with the same sort of behaviour from her, but rather than getting angry or reprimanding her, I tackled her to the ground and tickled her until we were both laughing. From that moment on, her behaviour changed. The disruptive behaviour stopped completely because of a simple little bit of advice from Holy Spirit.

Jesus promised us His Holy Spirit and said that He would be in us as believers. He’s in you and He wants to lead and guide you to build the best relationships! If you’re going through a troubled time in one of your relationships, ask Him and He’ll gently guide you toward what to do.
