PASSION PRODUCES PERSEVERANCE

  • July 4, 2023

For by You I can run through a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.Psalm 18:29 (AMPC)

Following a dream is easy when things are going well. But what about when you meet obstacles? Unexpected delays, distractions, opposition, relationship challenges or financial strain cause many people to quit.

When people ask me how I’ve gotten through setbacks, I simply tell them, “I asked God for guidance, used the best wisdom I could find—and in the end, I made sure to keep my passion up.” To pursue a dream through tough times, you need to have a passion for it—because passion produces perseverance.

And this passion and inner strength you need comes from Holy Spirit working within you (Ephesians 3:16). As you fellowship with Him, He produces phenomenal fruit in your life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23).

Love is a phenomenal strength. When you really love something—whether a person or a dream—you’re motivated to push through the hard days. You’ll sacrifice time, comfort and money just to accomplish that dream or build a relationship with that person. In extreme circumstances, you may even give your life for what you love.

Your stamina is directly connected to your relationship with Holy Spirit. As He develops these qualities in you, it becomes easier to stay passionate about the dreams He has placed on your heart.

Stay plugged into Holy Spirit. He will help you keep your passion alive and persevere till the end!
