HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS

Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:8 (AMP)

Some think of love only in terms of its expressions. For example, physical touch is an expression of love, but it is not love in itself. In fact, touch can be devoid of love and can bring pain.

So, what is real love?

God defines love in 1 Corinthians 13:4–8, but we also know that God Himself is love (1 John 4:8). If God is love and He has given us a description of what love is, then there are many things we can learn about God’s characteristics from the description He gives us in this chapter.

First of all, God endures long and is patient and kind. He is never envious and He doesn’t boil over with jealousy. He is not boastful or vain, and He does not display Himself haughtily. He is not conceited or rude, and He does not act unbecomingly.

God is not touchy or resentful. He does not keep track of the evil done to Him. He does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices when righteousness and truth prevail. God never fails.

How you view God today determines the extent to which you experience His love. If you believe He is impatient with you or keeps a running tally of your mistakes, you will struggle to feel valued by Him. But when you begin to see how much He loves you, something very special will happen in your life. You will discover that you have great worth—so great it cannot be calculated. Even your faults and failures don’t diminish His love for you.

His love never fails.
