HE DIED FOR YOU

  • April 7, 2023

He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. 1 Peter 2:24 (MSG)

Good Friday is the day that we remember the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for us. To honour Him, I simply want to tell you a bit about why I serve Him.

Jesus has impacted me more powerfully than words can describe. As a boy, I grew up learning that He was always with me. My parents would reassure me whenever I had a nightmare that I didn’t have to be afraid because I wasn’t alone. All the way back to my preschool years, I would ask Jesus to help me whenever I faced fear, and I can still remember how His peace filled me at those times.

Serving Jesus has been the best decision of my life. However, I did go through a phase where I didn’t like church at all. Despite the fact that I was a pastor’s kid, I actually promised myself that I would never become a pastor. But God had other plans for me.

I fell in love with people and I fell in love with church. I recognized that we can never hope to change our world by changing what is in our heads. Our lives change when we choose to reach out and grab hold of God’s power to change our hearts. I can see that the church of Jesus is the only hope for hurting world.

Do you know Jesus? Serving Him has released such incredible love into my life, and the same can be true for you. The more time we spend with God daily, the more His love radiates out of us and positively affects every facet of our lives. Jesus died for you. Will you spend time with Him today?
