DON’T LET THE ENEMY SCARE YOU

  • April 24, 2023

The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? Psalm 27:1 (NLT)

As you walk through storms, do not let the enemy intimidate or frighten you into veering off course.

When he tries to mess with you, what he needs to discover is a believer who says, “Come hell or high water, I’m going where God needs me to go.” Now, the enemy might try to scare you by blowing some heavy waves at your boat to see if you’ll give up but keep going.

A determined believer is like a cork—no matter how deep you sink, you’ll bob back up every time. So, no matter what you’re going through, keep your head up, stay focused on your direction and keep moving.

Long ago, when people began navigating through mountains, they would first pick out a landmark like an old tree on a cliff or two mountain peaks. When they came up out of a ravine, they would immediately search for their landmark to get their bearings again.

That’s what it’s like as you follow God’s direction in your life. Along the way, Satan will try to distract you with worry, anger or despair. That’s all stuff from the enemy’s camp—don’t accept it.

Instead, keep moving forward with joy in the direction you know is right. If you’re struggling with fear, I recommend Psalm 91 as a great place to begin meditating on and declaring God’s promises to you.

Regardless of your circumstances, remember: the enemy doesn’t have power over you. He can only try to deceive and manipulate you. So, resist him and his lies (James 4:7). Choose to rise up with a determination that says, “God lights my way. I don’t need to fear!”
