DISSATISFIED? TIME TO CHANGE

  • May 2, 2023

And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:49 (AMPC)

Change isn’t everyone’s favourite thing. In fact, some people need to be dragged, kicking and screaming, through change. Others simply won’t change, and they don’t like things to change around them.

The problem is that God is calling every one of us to go to new seasons in life, and this involves change.

How do you know when you need to change? Well, are you breathing? We all need to continually change throughout our lives! At times you might start to feel dissatisfied with life if you haven’t changed in a while. This uneasy feeling can sometimes be God’s way of reminding you that it’s time to change.

How do you know what to change? First Corinthians 15:49 says that you should bear the image of Jesus, but how do you do that exactly? Well, the first step is to find out what Jesus was like, and to do this, you turn to His Word.

As you study His Word to find out what Jesus was like, you begin to adjust what you believe. You find out that you have His nature in you, you have the mind of Christ, and you’re a new creation in Him.

Then, believe that you’re empowered to choose thoughts and behaviours that line up with this new you. In this way, you are allowing the Word of God to shape you and you are continually choosing to move toward God in all you do.
