Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. There is something prepared for the believer that many of us have not activated. It has to do with your recreated spirit.
Now, the human spirit inside you doesn’t know everything—but God’s Spirit does. When you are born again, Holy Spirit comes into your spirit. And as you meditate on the Word and renew your mind, you discover the ability of God that’s been given to you.
Many Christians simply apply God’s principles to the physical realm in a limited, elementary way. Yet Jesus told His disciples they’d do what He did and even greater (John 14:12)!
You might say, “How in the world am I supposed to do anything greater than Jesus?” But when He said that, He hadn’t died yet. No one could be born again until He went to the cross, took our sin and rose again with new life. Now that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father to be our advocate, we get to walk in His authority.
It’s time to wake up and realize the incredible ability you have as a child of God. As you work with Holy Spirit, you’ll begin to move in the power of God in areas like healing, finances and hearing His direction. You’ll see greater victories than anything you could achieve on your own. And it’s all because you are a new creation, brimming with God’s power!
